Jason Gayler
Jason grew up in the Coachella Valley and spent the first half of his career in rooms where the numbers decided everything — land development, agriculture, hotels, municipalities. In 2003 he helped sell a homebuilding division to Lennar Homes, then stayed on as Vice President and Controller for Lennar's Palm Springs division.
What stayed with him was how much machinery stood behind every number. At that level, nothing reaches an owner's desk until a department has checked it twice. Meanwhile the owner of a six-person shop makes decisions of the same weight — hire or wait, borrow or hold, raise prices or absorb the cost — on a spreadsheet and a hunch.

Today he's a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) in California, specializing in debt financing and producing the reports lenders and partners rely on. He brings that standard to every Phoenix Rising client, and he'd tell you the smallest businesses need it most.

For years, Susanna worked as a loan closer and processor — sitting across from small business owners at one of the most important moments in their company's life. She saw their books up close.
The same story kept repeating. Owners who were exceptional at what they did, deeply passionate, and working hard — yet held back by financials that were incomplete, behind, or simply confusing. Good businesses missing opportunities, not because of their work, but because of their numbers.
